Dolmetsch a cherddoriaeth gynnar

Penwythnos cyntaf yr Ŵyl yw dathliad gwaith Arnold Dolmetsch, sef arweinydd symudiad cerddoriaeth gynnar, ganrif yn ôl. Bydd cerddorion rhyngwladol Michala Petri, Mahan Esfahani a'r Ricercar Consort yn serennu, a bydd Jeanne Dolmetsch yn siarad am fywyd ei thad-cu.

Dolmetsch and the early music revival

Our opening weekend celebrates the pioneering work of Arnold Dolmetsch in reviving the performance of early music at the start of the 20th century. Danish recorder virtuosa Michala Petri, harpsichordist Mahan Esfahani and the Ricercar Consort present programmes inspired by Dolmetsch's family ensemble, prefaced by a special introductory talk by Jeanne Dolmetsch, grand-daughter of Arnold and Musical Director of the Dolmetsch Foundation.
